Hello, My name is Pablo Castrillón and I am a filmmaker, focussed on screenwriting and producing.
My interest in storytelling and creative eye led me to study a degree in film and TV. I've worked on short films, TV commercials and music videos in different roles. I worked on Operación Jaque - an International Emmy Nominated mini-series about a successful operation carried out by the Colombian army.
In 2018 founded VER MAS Australia, a community media organisation for Latinx audiences. I wrote, filmed, and edited a series of short-form videos distributed across our social channels. My vision is to create a platform to foster networking, careers and professional development for Latinx emerging filmmakers in Australia.
I collaborated with Woodfordia Inc. where I created content for The Planting and the Woodford Folk Festival.
Some of my recent achievements are: securing funding from the Community Broadcasting Foundation for a short documentary I am currently producing and directing and, being selected to participate in the 'Write Intensive for TV' workshop organised by Screenworks.
During the past 10 years, I have explored writing and developing projects for screen. I am currently working on stories that talk strongly about motherhood and outsiders struggling to fit in.
